This a simple poetry book. It is has couplet on each page and each page describes a character and an action. The characters all repeat their actions on a bridge until the bridge breaks and the last and first characters introduced find each other.
Review:
This a good introduction of poetry. It is a long poem broken down into smaller chunks on each page. However the poetry is not the greatest. The author results to made up words in order to keep the rhyme going and not in a genious Dr. Seuss made upt work way. The way this author does really does make it feel like he just stuck some word there because sometimes it does not quite make sense. Also the illustrations are almost devoid of color and do not make good use of the space. Even though the illustrations expand a whole two pages each, the character's the couplets are talking about are so tiny that it took me a while to even notice them on top of the bridge. This is definitively not a book to praise poetry. It feels like the author focused so much of the poetry structure that he forgot to make a good story line. ( )
