These are recreations of the Father Brown works of G. K. Chesterton, as radio dramas. While they are entertaining, I prefer the original tales. The man playing Father Brown simpered. It wasn't how I've imagined him, and the other actors are terrible when it comes to accents. Even some of their acting left me rather cold. Not cold enough to quit, but enough that I'm not interested in listening to these again.

I will have to read the originals again to make sure I'm not misremembering them.
