Tim Pigott-Smith is one of Britain's most loved contemporary actors. Ever since his rise to fame playing the part of Merrick in the TV adaptation ofThe Jewel in the Crown (an adaptation of Paul Scott's Raj Quartet), he has been consistently employed on stage and film in a huge variety of roles.
