The pictures are surreal & fun, but not to my taste. And I don't like the climax of the story. It's not a bad book at all, but just not to my taste. ( ) This is another really cute bilingual picture book by Susan Middleton Elya. 8 animals get together to bake a cake but uh-oh something happens when all the animals want to be the one to take the cake out of the oven. Colorful illustrations makes this book a run read aloud for students. I read it yesterday to 1st graders. Overall, this book does a fairly good job of integrating Spanish and English. The children enjoy reading it; but I think that's because it leads to making a cake as a class porject. Children with short attention spans get easily distracted. For the spanish speaking child, it's exciting to have a book in the classroom that speaks their language. A great classroom book that leads to making a cake from scratch (especially involving everyone in bringing in one of the ingredients). sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
