I am giving this chapter book a 3/5 because it is not a book I would read to my class. It is difficult to pay attention only because its packed with a lot of information. I found that I learned more from the picture book /Teedie The Story of Young Teddy Roosevelt/ because it has most of all the same information in a short simple text. I also thing for younger kids it would not grab the readers attention. Its just a very detailed book. It may be suitable for 6-8 doing a research paper on Teddy Roosevelt. One thing I liked was how they mentioned the family as a whole and then individually. Teddy was full of accomplishments such as being the president at such a young age. ( )

This book gave a lot of very detailed information about Theodore Roosevelt and his family. The books starts when Teddy is young and goes even past his death to Edith's life after he has passed away. I enjoyed the read because I love history and anything that has to do with presidents, but I am not sure I would share this with my class. I felt as though there was so much information that it would be hard to keep young students focused on the story. ( )

Life in the White House. He had family in the book. This would be a great book for children if they have a research project. ( )

This biography on The Theodore Roosevelts gave very detailed information. It provided the reader with information about The Roosevelts family as a whole and its members individually as well as life in and after the White House. At the end of the book it gives the reader information about further reading. I thought this was very neat. If a child is writing a report on the Roosevelts and need more information they can look at that back of the source and find other sources to check out. ( )

This book was filled with a lot of information on the life of Theodore Roosevelt. I would not particulary read this book with my student because the book does not do a good job of maintaining the readers attention and I want my student to be interested in reading about Theodore Roosevelt because he was such a great man. Theodore Roosevelt is a President that every student should learn about, he made many accomplishments. ( )
