Excellent text, well aimed to accommodate the learning-to-read crowd without being condescending. Amazing pictures. Pronunciation help for names. Typical DK labels point out useful words like NECK and FOOT. Loses half a point by not having any indication of scale. Brachiosaurus fills a two-page spread and so does Compsognathus. Discussed this issue, decided that you couldn't use a human or any other living animal to show scale without confusion about time; sharks and crocodiles could be a candidate except their sizes vary widely. However, a single illustration with *all* the dinosaurs together to show relative sizes would have served the purpose. Not that hard to do, DK editors. Maybe next time. ( ) Meet the Dinosaur is a wonderful educational book for students who read at level one. This book teaches us about the different types of dinosaurs and fun facts about them. One cool thing from this book is that it teaches us how to pronounce and spell the dinosaur's name. Another awesome thing about this book is that they have multiple reading levels available. Meet the Dinosaurs by DK Publishing In this easy reader, this book has simple sentences with repetition to allow them to begin to read. The book has wonderful pictures helping the students get context clues about what words might be on the page. I love that this book is a high interest subject to students. I think every student at this young age would want to learn to read with this book. I think this is great for Pre-K or Kindergarten students that are beginning to read or just about to start word recognition. I would have the students repeat the common phrases as I read and write on the board high frequency words. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
