A well liked woman is found dead in the Roosevelt is found dead in the Rose Garden shortly after leaving the office of a white house attorney. It is discovered that she had been seducing and blackmailing important men. Her partner is then found dead and some pictures of her and her various partners is found. The President assigns the case to the secret service to avoid having J Edgar Hoover snooping around. Eleanor helps out and of course, comes up with the solution. In those days, it was easier to get on the white house grounds and into the white house then it is now. This is a quick and easy read with real people and places. one f a series nominally written by Elliot, son of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, in which Eleanor is the detective. This one concerns the murder of a socialite who turns out to be a blackmailer with photographs of several prominent men in compromising positions.
