I really enjoyed this book! ( )

This was a very good read. You never know sometimes when you buy an ebook online. But the writing was good. The plot made sense and followed well. The characters grew during the course of the book. The romance was sweet and lovely. Not a lot of high drama just a nice romance much better than many Harlequins that are out there today. It was a contemporary romance about a poor girl who ends up pregnant after a one night stand with an engaged man. ( )

Quite an emotional story.
Not keen on the Hero pining for another woman genre but it works. ( )

This was a sweet little contemporary, but while I liked it, there were a few things that kept me from really loving it. In the beginning of the story, Tate came across as pushy and practically bullied Abby into what he wanted. Abby was a doormat and went along with it thinking she had no other choice. She was terribly immature for 23 years old. As time went on, the author did win me over and I was able to understand most of the characters motivations, but not all of them. A lot of their problems would've been avoided if they had just SAT DOWN AND TALKED!

I was expecting some epic event that would bring them together and when they got caught in the rain I thought, "Yes! They'll wreck in the storm or a tornado will make a beeline for the house."

Nada.

So, I'm an action junky. I can't help it.

Diane was a messed up, co-dependent psycho with few redeeming qualities. I was glad to see Tate finally dump his over-protective gland and break the dysfunctional cycle, but here again, he should've TALKED more to Abby during the transition.
I did like the way Abby regained her power and found a sense of worth. I also liked the idea that they had loved each other for a long time, but were both to mixed up to really understand it. I think the author has tremendous potential and I thoroughly loved [b:The Sweet Gum Tree|2761356|The Sweet Gum Tree|Katherine Allred|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1367119561s/2761356.jpg|2787065]. She can write deeply moving and emotional pieces, but this one just fell a little short. ( )
