Harry Golden has to be one of the more likeable authors I've read, and one of the most incongruous: He was a Jew in North Carolina in the 1950's, publishing "The Carolina Israelite" and putting forth opinions which can only be described as liberal and humanistic, even by today's standards. He attributed the fact that he was not ridden out of town on a rail (his building was torched once) to the notion that his fellow Southerners tolerated him as they would an eccentric uncle, since he was one of their own and not an "outsider" (although born and bred in New York City). His enlightened writings on race relations are of particular interest. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
