Mold is certainly enough to make me shudder, but the mold in this book is downright horrifying. As always, I loved the artwork. The resolution was rather sudden, and I was disappointed to never get an answer to the burning question of what the deal was with the purple slippers, but it was still a good story. Nice and weird.
The series timeline—what a great idea—and the cover gallery at the end were nice additions. ( )

I'm a sucker for Peter Grant, and this delighted me. Not, I think, as strong as some of the other adventures, but hey, it's a story to tide us over and I'll take it. ( )

I liked this story better than the one in “Night Witch”. There are some tee-hee moments and some strong action sequences and good snark from Peter, plus I felt the story hung together a little better. The motives and the mystery came through a little clearer. He even caught me out on some of the twists and wove in unexpected bits of Peter’s history. And then Guleed! Nightingale’s side story!

Still don’t think I can really recommend this as either a starting point to the comics or to the Rivers of London ‘verse in general, but it’s in the middle of a series, I don’t think I can be expected to. It’s a good solid comic arc, though, and if you’re a fan already, you’ll like it.

Warnings: Apathy (and worse) towards poor tenants, racism, hyper-sexualized side character. Also probably not for sensitive germophobes because, y’know, mould.

One of the things I really like about the PC Peter Grant graphic novels is that DC Guleed gets a lot more screen time in the graphic novels than she does in the books, and we get a bunch of wonderful little interludes with Nightingale. ( )

This collection covers the story arc Black Mould. Semi sentient mold is attacking people and the only thing they have in common is the landlord. I like this one because we get Sahra throughout the entire story. Also Peter uses chemistry along with magic in this story to try and solve the problem. The one shots at the end of the collection are good as always but you need to have read through Foxglove Summer to know everyone they refer to. Overall a fun read and barely enough to keep me going while I wait for the next novel. ( )
