Don't go anywhere near this book, it's badly outdated. ( )

An old (2001) book that is still useful and relevant in 2007. Although worrying about compatibility with Netscape Navigator 3.x is probably no longer than important, it's well written, still accurate and delivers the materials in a nicely paced and structured book.

I would say it's converted me from a rather poor, and confused, dabbler, trying to learn snippets from google searches, to a fairly confident and competent users of CSSes. ( )

How many computer instruction books can you say are useful 6 years after publication? This one still manages it. Sure, it rattles on about Navigator 3.z and 4.x compatibility issues and so forth, but it covers big chunks of still accurate material and it's nicely presented, developing well into quite a complex series of displays and formats.

This book is aimed at beginners/intermediates, which was me. I'd describe myself as a fairly comfortable competent now, a week ago, I'd have said a dabbler.

It is also, credit to the writing style, the only manual I can remember actually reading all the way through. ( )
