Wow. That was crazy cool.

I don't even really know what to say. It feels like the pilot episode to a really cool new TV show, and I just can't wait to see more. I love the story telling, and the suspense was intense. The art wasn't really my favorite, but I did like it. I'm extremely intrigued. ( )

It has a sentient talking doll. Thankfully, it's not a clown doll. But, it still may want to murder you. Hard to tell. Her name is Vespertine and she's not exactly an open book, nor is she a spreader of joy and sunshine.

I'm hoping we don't have to wait too long for volume two, because there are a lot of unanswered questions at the end of this one. Had at least some of those questions been answered, this may have been a five-star title, just for the sheer level of creepiness. (See above re: sentient talking doll.)

This is one of those graphic works where the colorist contributes so much to the storytelling and I just want to give a special acknowledgment here to Hilary Sycamore for a bang-up job. ( )
