I think this is my first Christian romance since I moved into the Romance category. It's not in your face, the religiosity is more a theme in Josh and Paige's story, and is integrated well so that it seems quite natural to their characters. Besides that, it's an engaging story and a great setting. ( ) I really got sucked into this modern day romance story - I couldn't put it down as I waited for the couple to finally decide to get together. Paige, the leading lady, dumps her can't make a commitment boyfriend and then decides the best way for her to move on with her life is to move to Austrailla. Josh, our leading man, is the lead singer of a Christian worship band and the son of the pastor of a mega-church in Sydney. Both of them have secrets from their past that they guard fiercly. They also have both formed a wrong impression about each other at the beginning, which leads to some great tension as they work through their mutual attraction and slowly learn the truth about each other. As you can tell, this book is filled with modern day evangelical Christian church culture - so readers who are familar with that world or really curious about it will probably enjoy it best. It also takes is filled with lots of details about Austraillan culture and customs - which I found interesting and sometimes very amusing. And the audio version was wonderful as the narrator did a great job voicing all the Austraillan accented characters and that really made me feel like I was there. The author throws a lot of wit and humorous situations into the story, which made it a fun listen as well. It was definitley like a romantic comedy on steroids in some places. There are some serious themes as well, as both characters have had past experiences that have made them question, doubt or just be in turmoil about their faith, their purpose in life, and whether or not it's worth it to take risks. Fans of contemporary Christian romance, witty humor, and shows like The Bachelor should enjoy this one! This was an adorable story that made me laugh and cry. I loved the characters, Paige and Josh and how their relationship moved from being enemies to becoming friends and then to falling in love. And the setting of Australia was a refreshing change. This is an author I will enjoy reading in the future. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
