This was my most popular read-aloud when I did a picture book club at my kids' elementary school. A funny & interactive journey into the life of Min the microbe. This was such a fun, quick read that explores the world of germs, microbes, and furthermore, science. Books involving STEM are becoming more prevalent and popular, and this book is certianly fitting in regards to the pandemic. This book had four different little characters named after the microbes they represented. Children could learn where these microbes are from, what they do, and how to transfer them from one spot on your body to another. It had very cute illustrations, and included humor within them that both children and adults could enjoy. Germs can be yucky, but this book teaches children to respect and appreciate them. Germs aren't always bad, in fact, they are like little friends you take on adventures every day, whether its touching your mouth or touching a book. Genre: Informational Sub-Genre: Picture Book This is a horrible book to read during the COVID-19 pandemic! My wife and daughter were totally cringing as the book instructed you to touch the page then your teeth, your clothes, your belly button, and the book again with nary a mention of handwashing! Aside from the title, there is no discussion how the germs starring in the book -- E. coli and streptococcus -- can cause you to get sick. No. Just no. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Min is a microbe. She is small. Very small. In fact, so small that you'd need to look through a microscope to see her. Or you can simply open this book and take Min on an adventure to amazing places she's never seen before -- like the icy glaciers of your tooth or the twisted, tangled jungle of your shirt. The perfect book for anyone who wants to take a closer look at the world. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
