One wealthy bachelor. Two Bennet sisters lacking prospects. Can either defy expectations? 'A charmingly written evocation of what might have happened to the remaining Bennet sisters. Very enjoyable' Katie Fforde, Sunday Times Number One Bestseller Mary Bennet does not dream of marriage. Much to her mother's horror, Mary is determined not to follow in the footsteps of her elder sisters, Jane (now Mrs Bingley) and Lizzy (now Mrs Darcy). Living at home with her remaining sister, Kitty, and her parents, Mary does not care for fashions or flattery. Her hopes are simple - a roof over her head, music at the piano, a book in her hand and the freedom not to marry the first bachelor her mother can snare for her. But Mrs Bennet is not accustomed to listening to her daughters. While Kitty is presented with tempting choices and left trying to resist old habits, May discovers that things are not always what they seem and that happiness has a price. But by the time she realises that her perceptions might be false, could she have missed her chance at a future she'd never imagined? Perfect for fans of Pride and Prejudice, Perception continues the adventures of the Bennet sisters in the Regency world we all know. For lovers of Austen and sequels Longbourn and Thornfield Hall, to reimaginings like Eligible and Death Comes to Pemberley, this is a sweeping historical epic to savour.… (más)

This sequel to Pride and Prejudice focuses on Mary and Kitty Bennet. It was lovely to see bookish Mary allowed to shine and by the end of the book Mrs Bennet has her hearts desire in marrying off all 5 of her daughters. Really enjoyed this 4.5 ⭐️ ( )

In this Pride and Prejudice sequel we follow the fortunes and heartaches of the two remaining Bennet daughters - Mary and Catherine. Instantly recognisable from canon. Can either have a happy ending like their two older sisters.
A delightful, very enjoyable, well-written story. The main characters were a joy to read about. I look forward to reading it again soon ( )

In this Pride and Prejudice sequel we follow the fortunes and heartaches of the two remaining Bennet daughters - Mary and Catherine. Several years have passed but they are still instantly recognisable from canon. Can either have a happy ending like their two older sisters.
A delightful, very enjoyable, well-written story with very likeable new characters. The main characters were a joy to read about. A very enjoyable re-read, again. ( )

I loved this P&P continuation for Mary and Catherine Bennett! Well written with an Austenesque ending. ( )

Ms. Fleming would have done better not to hang her book onto Pride and Prejudice. She has written a 21st century book that shows little sign of understanding the world of 200 years ago. Her characters are not close to Austen's, and are decidedly modern. That the book also contains several grammatical mistakes that have become common in recent decades just adds to this discomfort.

However the plot, characters, and writing are all well done. So I would be happy to read another book of hers if it were about today and was all her own creation. ( )
