Cassie moves to a house left to her by an Aunt in a quiet town in North Carolina, but her telepathic abilities alert her to a serial killer, who begins to prey on local women. She falls in love, but has to worry about a beyond the grave warning from her Aunt about him. Good (scary) ending. ( )

I almost gave this one four stars cause I found it really interesting and fairly unusual. The psychic, alternate consciousness stuff was really well done and really creepy. But the love story was lame and formulaic and not up to the same level as the rest of the book. ( )

Easy reading. I guessed the major killer early but did not pick up the final person and his abilities at all. ( )

The prologue provides just enough background information of Cassie for you to become curious. I'm glad that the plot began with her already having retreated to a different place instead of forcing us readers to go through the drama of her embarrassment and mistake. I also appreciated that Cassie and Ben showed some restraint and didn't confess their attraction to each other too soon after meeting. They are both likable characters.
The mystery itself is interesting and well-paced with many minor developments occurring in almost every chapter.
The audio-book could've ended an hour earlier than it did. However, there's a major development that happens in the last hour or so as we realize that (SPOILER!)the killer was merely a pawn.
I find it interesting the way that Cassie's past played into the motive of the mastermind behind these killings. I just don't understand why he killed these particular people though. The random bits in the book when we briefly see through his point-of-view illustrate how disturbing and mentally off his mind is. It's a good book and I plan on reading at least the next book in this series sometime to see what goes on with Cassie and Ben from here. ( )

I really loved this book it was a really good book. It was a book that I got sucked into really quickly, there was some interesting twists and turns in it as well. And it don't happen often but I was quite satisfied with the end of the book. I read it a long time ago and the book still stick with me. ( )
