I read this in German. Now it would be interesting to see the English. Certainly some parts of the book were rewritten for the German speaking readers. One obvious example is the chapter on tipping. Other places I also suspect were reworked. I would have liked to see more mention of the fact that different cultures have different ideas of what is polite. In a few places this is mentioned, but I missed several examples from my own experience. The most important being in the chapter on eating a meal with bread (instead of fork etc.) No mention was made of the strict rules in several countries against using the left hand.

I can't say that I learned a lot from this book, but most of the information was helpful, and at least a good start on being prepared for whatever you might find on your plate. ( )
