A pretty informative but easily understood book about different cryptids, including bigfoot, loch ness, and some lesser-known ones. Also has a section about supposed cryptids that actually turned out to be real, like the Onzo and the Giant Squid. ( ) The authors of Tales of the Cryptids present an extraordinarily well-crafted introduction to the field of crypto zoology, or the study of legendary creatures. The authors discuss such elusive figures as Sasquatch and El Chupacabra, highlighting historical arguments and evidence, photographic and otherwise. They begin each chapter with an illustration of one of the monsters they will discuss, and a narrative that dares readers to imagine what it would be like to meet one of these beasts, perhaps while taking an innocent stroll through the woods. The authors consult a number of experts and introduce eccentric contributors to the field, such as the great P.T. Barnum and proprietors of crypto zoological museums. This is a fabulous reference book for young readers, but also enjoyable to browse from cover to cover. The variety of prose formats, pictures, and illustrations together build an entertaining and informative book, suitable for emerging and reluctant readers. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Cryptozoology is the study of animals that may or may not be real: familiar animals like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, and those that are less familiar like the Marozi of Kenya, the Orang-pendek of Sumatra and the Thylacine of Tasmania. Meet these and more in this introduction to cryptozoology. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
