It begins with a mirror intended for the young toddler to gaze upon. While colorful, the book is an instruction manual or guide for the young reader. However, some lines almost seem alien-like (like a creature that has never met a human before). I am not sure if it's supposed to infer humor with that, but overall, the tone is loving and light. It is a board book, so there are some pages where you lift a tab, count, etc. ( ) Oh. My. Goodness. This is what happens when cleverness and adorableness are mixed in equal measures and flavored with truth. Or, perhaps, the other way around. Whatever its proportions, it is absolutely brilliant and applicable to all ages. A good reminder for parents and a lovely promise to children. If you think you have a better book for new arrivals, let me know. Because, right now, I'm pretty sure that it is impossible to top this book. My one issue is with my library. It definitely belongs in the picture book section(sorry catalog-er). Love this book! Putting it on my list to order for my pre-school classroom! The mirror are fun to look at for the younger ones. I'm familiar with Mo Willems, but not with his older collection of books. This book had important loving messages to children that encourages reading with their parents, teachers, and peers. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
