Sweet story but not as heartfelt or impactful than other similar books. This is made to be a feel-good book I understand, but I would prefer stories like 'Stepping Stones', 'The Journey' or 'The Day War Came'. Still an adorable story-although if I'm reading it correctly the cat died soon after reuniting with the family :( ( )

This is a fantastic story that chronicles one families treacherous journey from war torn Iraq to Europe. Upon entering Greece, the family cat, Kunkush, who has traveled many miles with them flees her basket and can't be found. Even though the family stays behind and searches for Kunkush, they cannot find her, and so, with a heavy heart, they continue their journey to a country that will offer them asylum. In the meantime, back in Greece, the cat is found and taken in and the volunteers there try to find the family who was looking for their lost cat. Many good people intervene and finally the family and Kunkush are reunited in Norway. ( )

Summary: This story is about a family who took their cat on a long journey with them while emigrating. They lose the cat at a beach. People at that beach keep the cat safe and find the original owners over the internet. The family is finally reunited with the cat and they are super excited.
Opinion: As a cat lover, I found this book very cute. It’s touching how these people were so nice to reunite the cat with the family when a lot of people wouldn’t have thought twice. I want to read this to children so they can be inspired to do similar kind deeds! ( )

After an unsuccessful search, his family has to continue their journey, leaving brokenhearted. A few days later, aid workers in Greece find the lost cat.
