With cover and interior illustrations by Phil Foglio! No Place Like Home! Stranded in the myth-begotten world of Perv... It's home to Ahaz, Skeeve's scaly green demon mentor and partner in crime, but it's no place for a human. When Ahaz takes exception to something Skeeve says, he walks away from MYTH, Inc. and goes back to Perv. Skeeve realizes that he must apologize for his thoughtless behavior and convince his stubborn, thin-skinned cohort to rejoin the firm-and finds himself trapped in the most demonic dimension of them all! Welcoming Committee... "Nice of you to drop by, mister!" That was said by a Pervect, one of six who were blocking our path down the alley. "Of course, you know this here's what you'd call a toll-alley. You got to pay to use it." "That's right," one of his cronies chimed in. "We figure what you got in your pockets ought to cover it." I decided that this would be an excellent time to delegate a problem. "C'mon Kalvin! Do something!" "Like what? I told you I'm no good in a fight." "Well, do SOMETHING! You're supposed to be the Djin!" "Oh, all right!" he grimaced. "Maybe this will help." With that, he made a few passes with his hands and...... and I was stone-cold sober! "That's all I can do for you," he shrugged. "At least now you won't have to fight 'em drunk.".… (más)

Apparently, I skipped the book before this one, [b:M.Y.T.H. Inc. Link|148205|M.Y.T.H. Inc. Link (Myth Adventures, #7)|Robert Lynn Asprin|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1172193946s/148205.jpg|655619], and you know what? It didn't even seem to matter.

That is one thing I do enjoy about these Myth books. They are a series, but a very loose series where each book can 'almost' stand alone. It makes for a fun, enjoyable, no pressure kind of read.

So Skeeve grows up. ( )

Skeeve discovers that he's not as grown up as he thinks he is.

It's an OK book. Nothing to write home about. Seems to be more about fan service as a number of fans have parts within the work. (They even break the fourth wall to let the reader know that they're fans.) ( )

The writing was solid, but I found the whole book annoying. Skeeve goes off to find Aahz, goes to Prevect which is much like New York, theres a few spots on pontification about how bad cities are, and Skeeve finally acts like an adult, that is until Aahz is found and starts ordering him around. I finished it, but only because the writing was simple enough and the story moves fast. ( )

This one seems more like an interlude than an actual adventure. Plus the original team was gone and it was mostly just Skeeve. Not bad but not hilarious. The history of Aahz was pretty cool. ( )

Those of you who have been following my mishaps know me as Skeeve (sometimes Skeeve the Great) and that I grew up in the dimension Klah, which is not the center of culture or progress for our age no matter how generously you look at it.
