Election Day is a book that is relatively easy to follow even for a reader that does not have a great grasp of the words on the page. The book is relatable for every kid that has been in a classroom before. The pictures in the book do a good job of telling the story so even a child who cannot read English can follow along with the story just by the pictures. The point the book is trying to reinforce is the importance of being honest, and although the book does a good job of it, it does not do a great job. The story although relatable is somewhat boring. The protagonist is a new student and although it details some of the feelings a new student may feel, I personally believe that it does so in a boring, surface level way.
