Thirty years ago, the author met his current wife, married, and moved into a hundred-year-old farmhouse at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northwest South Carolina, where both of them were high school coaches in local schools. This book is a collection of lengthy blog postings about their life in this home, from house renovation, local wildlife, and adopting pets, to local neighbors, holidays, and coaching moments. Many of these posts read like personal rants on the discussed subject with a satirical flavor, avoiding a more comforting memoir tone. There were some thoughtful moments, but this was mainly an OK look at moments in the author’s life around his home and wife. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
For nearly thirty years I have entered "Through the Front Gate" to a home that is much more than just a place to lay my head. For more times than I can possibly count I have entered a haven and a refuge, made so by the woman that lives here, my Linda Gail. These are stories of love but not love stories. They are stories of the unintended consequences of Linda Gail. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
