Amelia Bedelia is has always been a child favorite. I enjoyed this particular Amelia Bedelia book for many reasons. First, the plot line. The story flows through a very simple rise and fall plot line that beginning readers will be able to follow along with. The story is very relatable for its young readers as well. I also liked the dialogue included within the book. Beginning readers are in the mist of practicing fluency and reading with expression and books like these that include numerous opportunities to practice that are always good to have. The font is big and bold and are separated enough for the reader to flow through the sentences while reading individually or out load with a partner. I also enjoyed the simple sketched illustrations within the book. The illustrations are bright and colorful and stretch across the pages. They show some much expression from the characters and match the text that is on the same page. The main message of this story is provide a cute and simple story for beginning readers to practice their fluency skills. ( )
