I really, really liked this story about the bear who was driven to become an artist. I liked it a lot in particular because at the beginning, he was interested in drawing, but not very good at it; the more he did, the better he got! ( )

The main character of this story is a bear. When he is young, his mother teaches him lessons on how to be a bear-walking, fishing, climbing trees and searching for honey. As the young bear has his lessons, his mother allows him to draw in the dirt while he listens. Over time, he becomes an excellent artist. He even meets kings, queens, and presidents. He is offered fancy houses and cars, but says he prefers his bear life in his bear den. He always tells reader that if they want to be an artist, all they have to do is say it out loud and they will be an artist for "For all time and forever." ( )

The story of a bear who has always loved to draw and who is an artist. Very encouraging story about claiming yourself as an artist.
