Gorgeous title for the holidays, good for schools where holidays can't be discussed in specific. ( )

This book, "Winter's Tale" is the pop-up book that started it all for me. Found in a thrift store, I opened the cover and was in awe. The pop-ups, done in Robert Sabuda's signature classic white, are exquisite with multiple layouts on every page. The white pop-ups are beautifully set off by the colors of winter and stunning visual effects. My favorite pop-up is the final spread, a snowy forest clearing where a small cabin sits; pull the tab and tiny Christmas lights adorn the eaves. This book is not a children's book, although children will certainly love it, but a delightful walk through a winter forest, and the encounters with all the wonderful wildlife to be found there. ( )
