This was a great book. We see McGoogan befriend a rock that talks. This rocks dream is to see the sea, and McGoogans dream is to own a large palace. However, through their journey to the sea, they become best friends and McGoogan decides not to take the gold inside his best friend. This is a fantasy book because it has elements of magic (in the talking of the rocks), however, it is also very believable. We are able to take the journey with the Rock and McGoogan. We are able to relate it to ourselves and realize that friendship and family is much more important than the things I have.
