To lessen the pain of his wife's death, Keith Michaels headed cross-country. Yet though he had reached the Pacific Northwest, he still felt broken, empty and alone. When a sudden storm stranded him on Orcas Island, he sought refuge with the local widow, who was no elderly matron, but a reclusive young woman. A good story that fits with the name of the book, "Rainbow's End". It is a story of tragedy though, and how a person's faith can help them get through the rough times. Jill is a young woman who had survived a fire but came out of it with disfigurement on her face. She retreats to the Orcas Island to paint and stay away from people. Keith Michaels finds refuge at Rainbow's End in a terrible storm that resembles the storm in his life. Jill finds that her disfigured face doesn't bother Keith as she thought it would. She learns from Keith to open up to the world outside her place to help others. And one person she opens up to is a small boy who was mistreated and finds hope at Rainbow's End as well. Keith learns from Jill how to find peace when God allows things in life that seem unfair. It was a very well written story and I am glad I took the time to read it. ( )

Christian Romance that was quite good. Jill was disfigured in a fire that killed her husband and child. She's retreated to a solitary life on Orcas Island, until wanderer Keith, unable to find any other lodging on the island shows up on her doorstep. She agrees to let him stay in the cabin on her property, but overnight turns into months when he takes on a construction job on her house. And aids her when an abused orphan child shows up on her doorstep, assisting her with reentering the world to get Kyle help, despite her disfigurement which he doesn't flinch from. Will he stay? What was he running from? ( )

This book is an inspiring book, in which talks about starting over and giving God fully control and trust for the future. I love it becasue it talks about trusting God in the mist of the storm and letting the past go in order to have a healthy future! It made me realize that GOd has total control even when it seems that God has left us. ( )

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
And death shall be no more; neither shall there
be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore,
for the former things have passed away.
