The Fighting Pumpkins cheerleaders just make me happy. Their stories take the usual final girl/damsel in distress tropes and completely throw them away. Plus, they're just plain fun. I want more and more and more of these. ( )

Brilliant, fun wee short story :) really enjoyed it and wouldn't mind reading more about this cheerleading squard again. It could totally work as a series of fun, short stories like McGuire's Velveteen Vs. series :) ( )

Fun - a new (to me) Fighting Pumpkins story. Which mostly made me realize that I've missed a _lot_ of Fighting Pumpkins stories - the POV character skims over some recent events that I was completely unaware of. Got some story hunting to do! It's, as usual, an interesting take on urban fantasy - it's a perfectly reasonable route for Wendigos to take (assuming they can think). And the more I think about it, the more sense it makes, unlike a lot of things I've read recently. The ones that will eat are recruited, the ones that won't are still useful...and I bet they were delighted to get a bunch of cheerleaders. But the Fighting Pumpkins are not your average batch of cheerleaders (not that your average batch would be pushovers either...). ( )
