Spencer is hired to get the goods on a cheating husband, but quickly discovers a round-robin of cheaters connected to a major corporation, most of whom have hired PIs of their own. The whole thing gets nastier -- and deadlier -- as financial hanky-panky and corporate pandering crop up. Hawk does a great turn here as he introduces a new lady friend to the mix. ( )

As always, I enjoy the Spenser novels Parker writes. I mostly listen to the audiobook version with Joe Mantegna reading and really enjoy the way he reads it. ( )

In Bad Business private investigator Spenser is hired by a woman who wants evidence of her husband's infidelity. Many of Robert B. Parker's usual characters make an appearance. Hawk, Vinnie, Susan and Boston Police Lt. Quirk are all heard from. There are, if possible. more surprises than in most Parker novel. The surprises, I won't ruin the fun of reading this book by giving them away. Much of the story revolves around an energy corporation whose employees include Spenser's clients husband. Something is not right with the finances of the corporation and with the lives of it's high officials. ( )
