Underneath the axle grease and tats
He's a gentleman

Foley Sanders figured he'll always be content with a life of cars and casual hookups. Until a run-in with Cyn, a statuesque firecracker with a hate-on for men, leaves him bewitched and intrigued-much to her annoyance.

Maybe Cynthia Nichols was a little hard on Foley, that muscular, tattooed, super-hot mechanic next door. But she's tired of feeling defensive about her size and has sworn off men. She's got a new job, new life, perfect plan. Foley has trouble written all over him-no way is she going to fall for his charms.

Foley might look like a bad idea, but underneath, he's all gentleman. Too bad Cyn's not buying it. What's a bad boy to do when the goddess of his dreams won't give him the time of day?

Cyn, an Amazon of a redhead with the temper and intelligence to match the hair. Foley, mountain of a tattooed badass mechanic. She's got self-image issues and he's got more than enough self-confidence for the both of them.

I truly enjoyed this book. I know some will say Cyn's constant doubting of herself and Foley's feeling for her dragged the book down but if you are one of us who have been told...you're to this or that, you should lose ___ pounds so you could get a man, you need to be married so then I won't have to worry about you being alone....you get the gist...then you can't understand why Cyn may be an intelligent and successful business woman but scared to death of relationships and failing in another one. It doesn't help when the person doing all the negative nitpicking is your very own mother. Okay, all of us have had talks with our mom's and her brand of advice.....but to have it all your life and it's not constructive, it's not from a loving place either.

Foley is intrigued by Cyn the first time they meet. She goes to the garage he works at to rip someone a new one for parking cars in their lot. He turns on the charm because he definitely likes what he sees but she's not buying it. Or at least not right away, so he hopes. He's done time, he's got his own issues, his best friend Sam is more of a mountain of a man than he is (and since he's described as being "six and a half feet of man") that's saying a lot, oh and he has a mom he adores and is very protective of.

I like that to seal their feelings for one another and get them to where they get their HEA is takes a car accident and not a death like so many other books. They've been on a "break" when the accident happens. I believe it's Sam who texts Cyn and let's her know that Eileen, Foley's mom whom Cyn has been having lunch and heart-to-heart conversations with, is in the hospital because of the accident. (Sam.....oh Sam.....he's another big bundle of mess, so manly but so insecure....I need his story told so that I know this big boy is going to be okay.) They talk, not fight...no drama ....just an honest talk. She tells him she loves him, that's seeing a therapist is working and that if he's willing to give them a chance she only wants him. He puts his cards on the table letting her know that he will be right by her side, that he loves who she is and not just how she looks (though throughout the book he tells her time and time again to him she's the most beautiful woman on Earth), and that he can see a future with her that he never even thought to imagine with any other woman.

Thinking now I have to go back and read book one of the series since I just realized this is a series (I am infamous for doing that...middle of the series starting). I look forward to stories about the others....and what others they are....sounds like a garage I'd want to wreck my car just to have one of these hotties fix it.

Roadside Assistance is a scorching hot addition to Marie Harte's marvelous Body Shop Bad Boys series. In this outing, tattooed bad boy mechanic Foley Sanders meets the woman of his dreams, Cynthia "Cyn" Nichols, when she storms into Webster's Garage and lets him know in no uncertain terms that she is VERY unhappy about a parking issue.

Although he has a bit of a checkered past, Foley has not been in any type of trouble for years. He loves working at Webster's Garage and he considers his boss and co-workers family. He is devoted to his mom, Eileen, and while he is a little over-protective of her, he wants her to be happy. Foley lives with his oldest and dearest friend, Sam Hamilton, whose troubling past is not as far behind him as the two men would like. Foley is straight-shooter with few social graces but he is refreshingly honest and refuses to play games. After the fiery first encounter with Cyn, Foley is smitten but she is not exactly in the market for a new relationship.

With a string of failed romances behind her, Cyn has sworn off men but she cannot help notice that Foley is incredibly hot. Despite her unexpected attraction, she has no intention of spending time with a man who could have any woman who crosses his path. She is a very astute and successful businesswoman and she is very independent. After years of degrading comments from her mother, Cyn is struggling with a slew of self-images issues due to her above average height and shapely curves. Despite her reservations about becoming involved with Foley, she does finally agree to dating him as long as they keep things between them casual.

Cyn and Foley's relationship starts off with a bang as they quickly give in to their blazing hot desire. While there are always self-doubts at the back of her mind, Cyn's does not allow them to dissuade her from fully participating in their sizzling encounters. Cyn's self-confidence is fragile and because of her low self-esteem, she is always waiting for Foley to dump her when the "perfect" woman crosses his path. Foley sometimes has difficulty expressing himself and she misconstrues some of his comments due to her sensitivity about her size. Interference from outside sources and Cyn's unresolved issues threaten to derail their burgeoning romance and Foley finally runs out of patience with her inability to trust him. Will Cyn allow her emotional baggage and insecurities to ruin their chance at happiness?

Roadside Assistance is another fun, flirty and incendiary installment in the Body Shop Bad Boys series. The novel is entertaining with a realistic storyline that provides a positive message about body image. Although insta-lust quickly turns to insta-love, the romance between Cyn and Foley is believable. Old and new fans of Marie Harte are going to love this delightfully sexy and witty love story between a rough and tumble mechanic and the curvaceous businesswoman who steals his heart. ( )

Cyn is not your average cookie cutter besotted optimist. She's a real woman. Not a size 0 waiting to be rescued, but a ball buster with a sassy attitude, foibles that are easy to relate to and a need for acceptance that she protects fearlessly behind her bigger than life personality. Foley is the yin to her yang. He sees behind the shield and doesn't judge or tear down but helps her see the beauty she hides within. Roadside Assistance left me completely tongue - tied. Marie Harte gives the ultimate dream with her bad boys with big hearts and rough exteriors. Her message is clear: Inner beauty outweighs outer camouflage. Well played. Much needed reality check message. ( )

For some reason I kept picturing Foley as a middle-aged man with a beer belly starting. Man, I have never been so glad to be wrong. Foley is a huge, tattooed , scary looking teddy bear. I loved him. He had the right amount of intimidating alpha badass and soft, romantic heart throb. Cyn had such a hard time believing in herself personally; her professional life was going great. Thankfully she found Foley. He helped her in so many ways. They were a great couple.
