Mama sets the five little monkeys up for failure when she has them clean the inside of the house before sending them outside to do some very dirty chores. The inevitable ending irked me. ( ) Five Little Monkeys With nothing To Do by Christelow_ Eileen Cute children's story about 5 monkeys, it's summer and there's nothing to do. Mother has some things for them to do... their grandmother is coming. Problem is monkeys get into a lot of trouble... I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device). I thought this was a cute book. The whole day the monkeys spend time cleaning the house and making it nice for their Grandma Bessie. However, when it's time for them to wash up and put on clean clothes, the wreck the house like it was before they cleaned it! I thought it was humorous because I am sure that's exactly what it's like to have children; spend so much time cleaning everything and then it takes two seconds to make it a mess again. I also enjoyed Christelow's common theme of repetition in this book again. I like how there is not an excessive amount of text on one page so the children can follow without losing interest. Once again, the illustrations were great and very colorful. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
