I picked up this book with the idea of getting it as a gift for a relative studying Latin. The subtitle and cover illustrations seemed like it would be a humorous book, but it must be some kind of humor I don't understand. I got through *maybe* a third of this slim little book before giving up on reading it. I hadn't seen anything funny or really anything that made this a cohesive whole. It's a just a string of Latin phrases - either colloquiums or quotes from ancient texts - with no connections between the texts, despite the attempts at "chapters" with various headings. That might be one thing if any of it were entertaining, but I didn't find any of it to be. I guess it could be a useful non-homework way to brush up your Latin, although I find it unlikely you'd be pressed for an occasion to know the Latin translation of "Those twins were children almost four years of age." or "Have you still got room for a hot sausage?" In my opinion, the only "nonsense" related to this book is that it got published in the first place. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
