The biography of Nadia Comaneci is all about her life growing up as a young girl who couldn't sit still, through her first trip to the Olympics. The book starts off with Nadia as a young girl, and how she could never sit still and climed and moved all over the place. Nadia lived in Romania, and she was discovered by gymnastics coaches when she was at school in the play yard. Even though Nadia had be trained by her coaches, she still performed poorly at her first competition, 13th place. Nadia continued to train, and the year she first went to the Olympics, she received a perfect score of 10.0. A perfect score had never been achieved, and Nadia was the first to do it at such a young age. When Nadia grew up, she ended up marrying another gymnast, Bart Conner. Together, they opened up their own gymnastics academy in Norman, Oklahoma. The structure and order of the book was written very well, as it showed the progress of movement in Nadia's life. Gymnasts don't compete for very long, so it made since that the book only went through Nadia's first Olympics competition. ( ) Nadia Comaneci is a famous gymnast from Romania. She began gymnastics at a every young age. When Nadia was nine she participated in her first National Junior Championships competition where she finished in thirteenth place. Nadia was not pleased with this, so she practiced more and worked harder, she was determined. Nadia was only fourteen when she participated in the 1976 Olympic Games. She competed against the best gymnast from all over the world. She was the first gymnast in Olympic history to receive a perfect score of ten. Nadia also won five Olympic Medals and became the youngest Olympic Medalist in gymnastics ever. This biography did an excellent job of telling Nadia’s story. There was a lot of information and the accuracy is spot on. I have never heard the story of Nadia but the book allowed me to gain more knowledge about her and how she became a significant figure. This book belongs to historical which talked about a little girl who were so naughty in her childhood and she always climb trees. Nobody could handle her even her parents. Miracle appears, people found that she has a gift in gymnastics. Eventually, she won 5 pedals in Oylmpic Games and broke the record of one hundred percent. This book is quite meaningful and attractive which is appropriate for elementary school students. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
