A good description of some of the issues of processed foods and the food industry. Low fat foods remove fat content but replace it with sugars which are processed by the liver which then over-produces insulin. All calories are not equal. Calories in natural foods with roughage are not absorbed quickly. Processed foods, all the calories are turned to fat. Thin people can be fat inside and have the same health risks as obese people. Not enough info on the alternative. A sugar de-tox diet is mentioned but not described. Only a few images of what good meals might look like, but no discussion. The sugar content of even spaghetti sauce is amazing. The family that detoxed has continued with the best weight-loss record. Other attempts by gastro surgery and exercise are failures. No mention of fasting to get body cravings under control. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Narrated by Katie Couric, the film blows the lid off everything that was known about food and exercise, revealing a 30-year campaign by the food industry, aided by the U.S. government, to mislead and confuse the American public. Exposing the hidden truths contributing to one of the largest health epidemics in history, it follows a group of families battling to lead healthier lives and reveals why the conventional wisdom of 'exercise and eat right' is not ringing true for millions of people.
