Orphaned at a young age, Faith Herbert - a psionically gifted "psiot" discovered by the Harbinger Foundation - has always aspired to greatness. But now this once ordinary teenager is taking control of her destiny and becoming the hard-hitting hero she's always known she can be - complete with a mild-mannered secret identity, unsuspecting colleagues, and a day job as a reporter that routinely throws into her harms way! Well, at least she thought it would. When she's not typing up listicles about cat videos, Faith makes a secret transformation to patrol the night as the City of Angels' own leading superhero - the sky-soaring Zephyr! But flying solo is going to be tougher than she ever thought when Zephyr uncovers a deep-rooted alien conspiracy. Two-bit burglars and car thieves are one thing, but when the world needs a hero to stave off an full-blown extraterrestrial invasion, will Faith find herself in over her head or ready for her biggest challenge yet?… (más)

How have I not heard of this before? This is one of the best comics I've read in a while!

Faith...she was the kind of hero I loved growing up. The one who didn't give up, who had clever plans to beat the bad guy, who cared enough to give it her all no matter what.

And honestly, it was so nice to see a Heroine accepted for who she was. Aside from one line from a villain, no one questioned Faith or that she used to be with. No one questioned her ability to get the job done.

I loved it.

I do wish we had a bit about what exactly "the Vine" was doing to the psiots". They hooked them up and made them brainwashed zombies...or something? It was a bit skiffy, but that's fine. I want more please. ( )

Faith is a fresh, funny and action packed new comic series. Jody Houser's writing is just fantastic and the artwork is bright and traditional and lovely. I was immediately drawn to the story and the humour on offer, and Faith herself is just a delightful character to follow. I really enjoyed this book and felt like it just went by in a flash, I can't wait to read on and discover more about the characters and the world they inhabit. I recommend this, for sure. ( )

I liked this, mostly because Faith is an awesome character. I wish I found the other characters interesting - so far she was the only thing that kept me reading, but maybe as the series continues the other characters will step up. ( )

This was my kind of fun—a superhero who’s a Joss Whedon fangirl whose secret identity is a writer for a Buzzfeed-like blog. The L.A. setting is perfect for this character, the dialogue is clever, and Faith is extremely likeable. I’ll be sure to check out the next. ( )

I really enjoyed this. I had been hearing about this title for a while, and how it was smart and funny, and showed a superhero of a different body-type without calling it out (really, not making a big deal about something is better in my head than the opposite, because it normalizes it).

What I hadn't expected was to fall head over heels in love with this story. The main character, Faith/Summer/Zephyr is refreshingly normal. She gets take-out like the rest of us, worries about bills, has a job that isn't what she wants to really do, and she gets lonely and misses her ex just like that rest of us. She is also unabashedly geeky, but again, this isn't called out but is just there. So fantastic.

I loved the plot, and how it twisted while introducing readers to Faith and the background characters, both mundane and not. Also, the identity reveal early on was amazing! It totally was nice to see that rather than years of running around trying to lead a double life with really stupid excuses a la Clark Kent. ( )
