A little bit math, a little bit learning to share, mostly about a hippo that breaks things when it gets nervous. Can the animals find a way to equally share the cookies? I really really really love Dan Santat's illustrations. I may have to put him on the list with Jon Klassen as illustrators I'll always read. The little models of the characters to indicate an idea are really adorable and weird. I love that this is a book about fractions without actually mentioning fractions! And I love how very important this situation is to our protagonists. THERE MUST BE EQUAL COOKIES. The way everyone flips out when the hippo keeps snapping cookies in half is just delightful. One of my favorite authors, Mo Williams of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, and Dan Santat come together to write this humorous story on dividing a cookie evenly. As with any of Mo Williams characters, the members of the story are loud and vivacious. Santat really overdramatizes the characters facial expressions to go along with Williams character's personality. The illustrations are fresh and vibrant in color. A very adorable story that has a decent amount of math content. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
