I really enjoyed this book. It was a great story, and the coda at the end really gave me a big smile. I only ding it one star because some of the references to other books (Drangonlance Chronicles and Legends) and characters were a bit heavy-handed and clunky at times. As important as these references may have been, I didn't need to be reminded over and over that certain characters (who played no part in this story) were around town, just doing their thing. Obviously you shouldn't read this book without reading the first six of the origin two trilogies. If you do , you will still enjoy it, but many of the references will go over your head. This is my favorite book in the Dragonlance series by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. When I ventured to Solace for the first time, Raistlin had me. I was very curious to learn more about this complex character. I love Raistlin and credit him for my growing fond of/loving Severus Snape in the Harry Potter series. This was my absolute favorite Dragonlance book- here is where we learn the past of one of Dragonlance's most intriguing (not to mention popular) characters. I actually wrote a paper on this one (not easy to do with a fantasy book). Anyway, this is written by Dragonlance's best author in a very in-depth way that really explains Raistlin's character. If you read Dragonlance, read this one. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Soulforge was even more satisfying than I'd hoped it would be! Raistlin is as interesting as I remembered, and Tas the Kender remains one of my most favorite literary characters. I am looking forward to a long stay on Krynn. ( )
