Meh. Felt like reading 47 versions of the same story. It's probably the perfect book for someone in a certain stage of life who is searching, scared and/or feeling unfulfilled or unsatisfied. Thankfully, I'm not in that place. So, while I could certainly relate to the situations and feelings of most of the contributing authors, I grew tired of repeatedly trodding over the same worn path. At another time of my life, I'm sure I would have rated this more highly. ( )

Eat Pray Love Made Me Do It

Eat Pray Love made me do it celebrates Eat Pray Love- not only its success or reach but the fact that a book can be a phenomenon.
This book is a collection of essays from people around the world. Every single essay is a story of life, a depiction of emotions and impact that a piece of literature can have on the world & its tidings. After reading every essay, I would close the book for a few seconds, shut my eyes and simply absorb the underlying emotions. I would smile, shed a tear, feel accomplished, let courage flow through my veins and let the warmth engulf me and provide me comfort.
I read Eat Pray Love in 2018. It helped me in various ways. Strengthen my decision to keep fighting for love, learn a new language and prepare to move to another country, face the problem of emotional eating. It is 2020, I married the love of my life, have some proficiency in French and moved to Paris, focused on self-help and hit the realization “Eat to fuel your body and not feed your emotions”.
It is okay to be vulnerable. It is okay to fall in love. It is okay to just go to a country just because you want to. After all, it’s you. It is your life. Those are your decisions. ( )

I listened to Eat Pray Love on audiobook, and while I was touched by her story, I didn't do anything radical about changing my life. However, many who read the book did. This book offers small stories from the ones who changed their lives after reading it. Who carry it with them like a totem. And big changes came for them. A beautiful reminder of what the power of the right book read at the right moment can do. ( )

3.5 stars!

A neat book filled with stories about people who have been inspired by Eat Pray Love. Having not read the memoir myself (I've only seen like half the movie) it was harder to connect to the stories, but they were still incredibly inspiring. It is amazing how a book such as Eat Pray Love can inspire so many people into taking control of their own lives in so many different ways. Each story was unique with a different outcome. Courage comes in many forms and that is what I learned from this book. Even taking a small step is still a step and I am in awe of the confidence of the men and women in these stories for making decisions that can turn their life around. Books truly are magical. ( )
