Flirtation can be an art, or so they say. Well, if so, Ruth and Richard are "the old masters" of the flirting game. Despite their strictly platonic relationship, there's "something there," as so many of their friends and families say. Neighbors and friends for ten years, neither seems willing to change the course of their relationship.Three doors down, at the end of the cul-de-sac, Mason Dickenson has watched his favorite neighbors with an interested eye, but he's finally had it with the dance. So, with a pack of cards and a few tricks up his sleeve, he's determined to get them out of the "friend rut" and into romance. Thanks to Mason's unique matchmaking scheme, Ruth and Richard concoct one of their own-a deeper, stronger, eternal love and relationship that nothing on earth can match.… (más)

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

The Matchmakers of Holly Circle is about Ruth and Richard, two people who have been in a platonic relationship for ten years. It seems that everyone on their street knows they are in love except this duo. Finally, a gentleman a few doors down decides to beef up his matchmaking skills to show them their real feelings for each other. But does it work.

I love this beautiful and fun story, and it gets better the more you read. Chautona Havig does a fabulous job writing this sweet romance with a bit of underlying mystery. Mason’s matchmaking skills he uses are exceptional, and very intriguing. The entire story was so well written, the characters, some I really love and some I really didn’t, but we need them all to came the story more colorful and enjoyable. It’s truly a sweet Christmas story you are sure to want to read during the Christmas season. I am happy to give The Matchmakers of Holly Circle by Chautona Havig Five out of Five Stars.

**And as a special note. You can find The Matchmakers of Holly Circle by Chautona Havig on Kindle Unlimited, along with many other Christmas stories from this author.

The Matchmakers of Holly Circle by Chautona Havig is a stand-alone romance novel. Ruth and Richard have been neighbors and friends for ten years. They just can’t seem to get past the friend stage. Mason Dickenson, the neighbor at the end of the street, decides that they need a little friendly help. The story was a little drawn-out. There were a few annoying characters, but getting past all of that the story had a lot of heart. The matchmaking scheme was a brilliant work of art. Ruth was a very likable, relatable character; and Richard was the typical hero.

I received this book from Celebrate-Lit for my honest review. ( )

What I think you should know:
The Matchmakers of Holly Circle by Chautona Havig is a Contemporary Christian Fiction with a Christmas Theme, although I think it could be enjoyed anytime of the year. This story is set in Havig’s Rockland, if you have never read one of her books this would be a great place to start for a glimpse into the Rockland Universe!

What I think about this book:
I adore stories set in Rockland and feel like I am dropping in on old friends or just about to meet new ones. I love a good Christmas story so when I saw that the author had a Christmas story that I had not read yet I jumped at the chance and am glad that I did. Ruth and Richard have been neighbors and best friends for ten years, they are both in love, but for some reason neither is willing to act. This was a very sweet romance where I sometimes wish that I could jump into the story and shake the characters until they listen to me. In addition to Richard and Ruth we meet Mason and several other residents who create a mystery that adds an interesting bit of intrigue to the story! I really enjoyed this story and the wonderful way that Havig allowed the story to unfold.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. ( )

I love when a book employs a holiday setting, such as in The Matchmakers of Holly Circle!

Though the story centers on the friendship and possible romance of Ruth and Richard, the elderly man down the street, Mr. Dickenson, steals the show (and my heart.) He reminds me of the man from It’s a Wonderful Life who grew frustrated with George and Mary saying, “Argh, youth is wasted on the wrong people!”

Ms. Havig is a gifted storyteller. Even though Ruth and Richard are sometimes (extremely) frustrating, and they deserved a good shaking a time or two (or three) the romance is sweet, and the story is oh so meaningful.

Any time I pick up a book by Chautona Havig, I expect to enjoy it and The Matchmakers of Holly Circle lived up to my expectations. Ruth and Richard have mastered the flirtation game with nothing substantial coming from it. Several houses down, Mason Dickerson has watched his neighbors with interest. He feels the time is right to give the two a little proverbial shove towards one another.

With a mysterious gift-giver adding some mysterious elements, some interfering relatives (what family could be complete without them), and more this book moves along at the perfect pace.

Containing wonderful characters (as I would expect), an interesting storyline (as I would expect) and a bit of intrigue (also as I would expect) this book kept my interest. I wanted to find out how things that apparently went wrong could turn out alright in the end. I found myself unable to put this book down until the very end.

I definitely recommend you check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. ( )
