Lately I have been obsesssed with cacti so i thought this would be a fun book to read. Each page is a poem about various plants and animals found in the environment a cactus would thrive, the desert. It is almost as if the plants and animals wrote the poems themselves as the tense of the poems insinuates personification. ( ) Cactus Poems is written by the author Frank Asch who travels to four different north American deserts- the Sonoran, the Mojave, the Great Basin, and the Chihuahuan. In each poem, Asch put himself in place of the many things he observes in the deserts to make each of his poems come alive. It's amazing to see the different kind of animals they have in each of the deserts he travels through. At the end of the book Frank Asch shares more interesting information on each of the deserts, he wrote his poems about. Young readers will be interested in this poetry book because it is more realistic poetry that allows us to learn more about how beautiful deserts can be. Cactus Poems is a collection of poetry written by Frank Asch that includes photographs by Ted Levin. Cactus Poems is a collection of poetry and photographs that uses the dessert as its theme. The poems in this collection are about the dessert and its inhabitants. Some titles included are Slow and Steady, Bobcat Watching, Waterless Shores, and Be Careful. This is a nice book of poetry for children and young adults because the poetry is very simple and easy to follow but is also quite interesting. The photographs that accompany every poem are a great addition and give the book more depth. There is an element of education in the poetry because they describe different aspects of the dessert. I would recommend this book for people of all ages. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
