If this book doesn't cement Lisa Gardner as a fantastic author and earn her a spot as one of my favorites, then no other book of hers will. I found it very hard, next to impossible even, to put this book down. I loved the story, the characters, the suspense, everything about this book. I tried to figure out where the story was going, thought I had it, but I was wrong. Great story with a perfect ending. ( ) A pretty good plot, but some of the actions taken (or not taken) by some of the characters strained belief at times. Also, I didn't particularly like the D.D. Warren character at all. I liked the writing though and the plot build up was very good so I may take a chance on another book by Gardner because I saw so much potential in her writing. This one may just not been among her best. My third read in this series! Love Lisa Gardners plot twists and flawed characters and dark stories. Although I still haven't figure out why she calls them the Detective D.D. Warren series when Warren has never been truly a main character but more like a recurring character. Maybe I will figure it out in the other books... Hide is a great book....You can not put it down! It keeps you guessing until the end and finishes with a big whammy! This is the only book in the series I've read, but it was very easy to follow. The book begins with Bobby Dodge finding 6 mummified corpses under ground at the Massachusetts mental hospital. This resembles an identical crime year ago...but how can that be? Thus enters Annabelle Granger who has been running and hiding all her life, but never knew what she was running from. Now one of the corpse is found wearing Annabelle's necklace and she is declared dead! Thus unfolds the story traveling from one suspect to another.
