There is a beginning, middle and an end. It is ridiculous because there is no way that all of the incidents in the book will neatly tie up in the end. It is ridiculous because it insults the reader who is looking for entertainment. It is ridiculous because what thief would just volunteer to help someone who is being charged for murder? Honestly Mary Higgins Clark you can and have done better. It is because this book was written from a different galaxy of reality that is totally unbelievable that it warranted two stars. I didn't realize this was another Alvira/Willie book, but that was a nice surprise! I like all the books with this couple who won the lottery several years ago, spend their money and live wisely and solve crimes (well, mostly Alvira does!) Anyway, this one involves a woman who is accused of killing her husband who had Alzheimer's, and Alvira searching for a friend's birth mother. It all ties together nicely, with new characters and a satisfying ending.
