Even though this book is light on actual text, it offers a very good introduction to knowledge about squirrels. There's lots of opportunity in this book to think about the different types of squirrels there are and what their role is in the ecosystem. It would be great for a read followed by a nature walk to keep talking about what a young reader now knows about squirrels. A great resource for building an elementary science lesson off of.
