Actualmente no hay Conversaciones sobre este libro. 597 This DK Eyewitness Guide offers a basic introduction to the diversity and biology of extant fishes. It focuses on bony fishes (osteichthyans); sharks and rays get a couple of pages of coverage, and jawless fishes (agnathans) are mentioned in passing. No matter; with 26,000 species of bony fishes, this book has a lot to explore! Written for the general public, this book is full of excellent color photographs and diagrams, with short paragraphs of explanatory text. It approaches the vast diversity of bony fishes by considering in succession such topics as swimming, coloration, scales, tails, skeleton, defense, reproduction, and various aspects of natural history. Although the approach is not taxonomic, a few particular groups get attention -- pipefishes, flatfish, pufferfish, eels, and rays. As is typical of the DK Eyewitness series, the information is accurate and largely current. Teens and adults will find this book a useful introduction to fish diversity and function. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
