I read this novella in the With This Ring novella collection and I loved it. Loved the Dead Eye Dan stories and loved Marietta and Daniel together! ( )

Marietta Hawkins has been in love with Daniel Barrett since he began working on her father's ranch. But when she overhears Dan telling her father that Dan has purchased his own plot and intends to leave, Marietta knows that she's facing her last chance to make Dan fall in love with her. When Marietta manages to get several days alone on the ranch with Dan while the rest of the hands are on a cattle drive, she figures that nothing can stand in her way. But while Marietta tries to make Dan fall in love with her, Dan has plans of his own.

A very cute Christian romance novella that follows shortly after the events of A Worthy Pursuit. Marietta and Dan's crossed purposes flirtation is pretty adorable and the epigraphs at the beginning of each chapter from the fictional dime novels based on Dan's time as a Ranger are just as entertaining. Karen is one of my favorite authors. I know that I will be entertained when I pick up one of her books. If you have read A Worthy Pursuit, you like me, will enjoy seeing some of her characters again. ( )
