New Zealand has one of the world's most diverse range of vintage tractors and all over the country there are people with a passion for collecting and restoring them. John Wilson and Ashley Curtis travelled the length of New Zealand to ensure the selection shown here is representative of as many of the vintage tractors in New Zealand as possible. This richly illustrated collection also reflects a diversity of approaches to collecting and restoring old tractors - some vintage tractor enthusiasts like their machines gleaming brighter than new, while others like to leave tractors 'in their working clothes'. Each collector's story is accompanied by notes explaining where individual tractors fit into the history of tractor development and use in New Zealand and around the world.
