I had many issues with this book: But then again, it was supposed to be a fun, quirky, sweet romance story - and on that front it totally delivered. There were quite a number of caricaturistic moments that had me cringing, but overall the characters were crazy but likeable. The writing was a little all over the place, but it kind of grew on me as I was reading, and it suited the tone of the story in a way. Also, I really liked the way this book approached the whole idea of women pursuing their career while men stayed at home with the children, as well as making a point about how hard-working and underappreciated nannies are. In short, this book had more to it than the average romance story, and I liked that a lot. ( ) I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed this. The language was a little strong for my tastes at times, but the main characters were well-written and sympathetic, the action well-paced, and tne whole a satisfying read. An informal, light style but with much to think about too. Definitely a cut above the average 'chick-lit'. Enjoyed it. A bit deeper than most chick lit. When Jo Green takes a nannying job in London to escape her small-town routine, complicated family, and perfect-on-paper boyfriend Shaun, culture shock doesn't even begin to describe it. Dick and Vanessa Fitzgerald are the most incompatible pair since Tom and Jerry, and their children - glittery warrior pixie Cassandra, bloodthirsty Zak and shy little Tallulah - are downright mystifying. Suddenly village life seems terribly appealing. Then, just as Jo's getting the hang of their designer lifestyle, the Fitzgeralds acquire a new lodger and suddenly she's sharing her nanny flat with the distractingly good-looking but inexplicably moody Josh. So when Shaun turns up, things get even trickier - No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
