Missing something

There's a lack of emotion throughout. No passion. It's all very matter-of-fact. Most of the characters seem to have no depth beyond name and description. There also a severe practicality in most of their actions and discussions that saps the emotion from the scene. No tension between allied characters beyond pro forma protests at risky plans.

I was getting bored waiting for the bad guys. Then they showed up and fit a stereotype so exactly as to be...boring.

The sqwick factor when she wears her mother's lingerie...yikes.

The bi-polar adjacent reactions to a few incidents were also troubling.

I just cannot recommend this book or series. The proofreading is adequate, and the plot is consistent. But it reads flat. Almost monotone. ( )
