Late in the day shows Ursula Le Guin mastery as a poet. She can create multiple forms of poetry -- four line, verse, free-verse--and all with some nugget of insightful description. Her Hymn to Time opens up understandings that you might not find from the best scientists. Her forward adds a helpful frame to her poetry as a contrast to the "orgy of being lords of our creation" and the world of technology. Poetry is a language we need, she says, to complement the language of science. (
